Welcome to Barefoot Bungalow, a comfortable and family-friendly cottage overlooking beautiful Stoco Lake in Tweed, Ontario. Just two hours from Toronto, this inviting retreat offers the perfect blend of relaxation, recreation, and convenience, making it an excellent choice for families, couples, or small groups looking to enjoy the Kawarthas. For larger gatherings, this cottage can be reserved together with the neighbouring rental on select dates, creating accommodations for up to fifteen guests while sharing some outdoor amenities.
The bungalow comfortably sleeps up to nine guests, with a maximum of six adults, across three well-appointed bedrooms and additional sleeping space in the living room. Inside you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, dishwasher, beverage fridge, strong Wi-Fi, air conditioning, onsite laundry, Smart TVs, and a cozy propane fireplace for cooler evenings. The primary bedroom features a king-size bed and direct access to the deck, providing a peaceful place to enjoy your morning coffee before the day begins. Guests are asked to bring their own sheets and towels, while pillows and quilts are supplied for added comfort.
Just a short stroll from the cottage, the shared waterfront offers excellent opportunities for swimming, boating, and fishing throughout the year. Wade into the shallow shoreline or dive into deeper water from the dock before exploring Stoco Lake by kayak or relaxing on the floating water lily pad. Back at the cottage, children can enjoy the private play structure, while the shared trampoline and swing set provide even more outdoor fun. End the day with dinner from the BBQ, gather around the propane fire table, or relax beside the fire pit under a sky full of stars.
Located only minutes from downtown Tweed, you’ll have easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, local shops, golf courses, ATV trails, and the Stoco Lake Lodge spa. The nearby conservation areas and wooded trails offer plenty of opportunities to hike and explore, while Stoco Lake is well known for its excellent fishing in every season, including ice fishing during the winter months. Whether you’re planning days on the water, evenings around the fire, or simply a quiet escape surrounded by nature, Barefoot Bungalow is a welcoming place to enjoy the best of cottage country.

- Minimum Age Of Primary Renter: 25
- Security deposit is $500, payable by etransfer, and is returned within 7 days of stay
- Cancellation policy: Fully refundable up to 60 days before check-in, minus a 10% admin fee + HST based on the total booking amount (does not include refundable security deposit)
- Payment Schedule: 50% of rental fee due at booking. Balance and security deposit due 60 days prior to stay, payment by etransfer
- Security cameras facing front door, driveway, and back deck stairs

My parents took my Grandma and I to the Barefoot Bungalow.It’s such a cute and cozy place.It’s very clean and comfortable. Lisa, the owner was very responsive to my parents. There is a swing set and paddle boat to use on the lake. The cottage has board games that we played every night. We enjoyed the fireworks over the lake on Canada Day. We sat on the side dining porch and enjoyed our lunch. From the patio, we watched chipmunks 🐿️, rabbits, and one pudgy, cute gopher running across the property. This place is a cool piece of nature. We went into Tweed and enjoyed the friendly locals and found two wonderful places to eat. You must visit “By the Way Cafe” and “Tweed Desi.” If you want to get away and enjoy some family time, I recommend this place.

Shannon, we want to say thank you. We had an absolutely amazing weekend. The weather was perfect. The cottages were clean and spacious. The property was amazing. We played so many games. Would definitely like to come back!

Our stay at Barefoot bungalow was amazing,, didn’t want to go home after our week stay!! We had a great weather, so we took advantage of the outdoors as much as we could! My son was all about fishing so the dock was his happy place. We were able to dock our canoe but also large enough for us all to sit and relax on the dock.
We enjoyed the use of the kayaks, the paddleboats and the water mat, so much fun.
The cottage was bright, spacious and after a long day of fun, the perfect spot to come back to unwind and relax.
Our hostess Lisa and her husband were there when we arrived,welcoming and answered any questions we had to ensure our stay was enjoyable.
Barefoot Bungalow is a great place to stay,enjoy time with family and to just relax and unwind.

We stayed there Canada Day Weekend weekend. It is such a cozy and cute 🥰 cottage. We enjoyed the property very much. We were impressed by how clean it was and the beds were very comfortable.

We stayed this past weekend for Father’s Day. Lisa is very accommodating to the request we had made… The cottage was easy to find, very clean, and lovely. The design inside is so modern. The kitchen was fully loaded with everything you needed. The beds are also comfortable…
We were even able to launch our boat (9 min away) and were able to leave it at the dock so my husband could go fishing in the early mornings… The kids had a lot of fun fishing from the dock. Lots of turtles and frogs by the water, which our 4-year-old loved watching.
Everything is conveniently located 10 min away: Tim Hortons, LCBO, Beer Store, Walmart, Dollar Store. We had Vito’s pizza for dinner, and it was also very good.
I would definitely recommend Barefoot Bungalow. 10/10. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you again, Lisa.
